Rap from Peru!
The Hip-Hop culture arrived to Peru with breakdance back in the 80s. It was very popular among the youth but what made Hip-Hop get more recognition at the end of the decade was rap music.
The first Peruvian rap group was Golpeando la Calle, which for ten years they carried the rap flag, they promoted breakdance and graffiti.

Sadly there is not much information about their music and is not easy to find but here is one of their songs:

Clan Urbano was formed in 1996 and were probably the main exponents in rap music back in 2002 with their album Desde las urbes. They have 4 studio albums and they've been to many countries around the globe. They won an award in the third edition of the Festival Claro de la Música and an award for Best Urban Song in 2010.

Songs that are great to enjoy from them:

Some say that the most political rap group in Peru is Comité Pokofló. With strong lyrics about society and injustice, they criticize governments and big corporations. With strong beats, they tell politicians what they think and they narrate the reality of ur society. The group consists of Pedro Mo, Edu, Punko and Dedos.

Two songs I recommend to listen because of their great lyrics are:
De la Fabrica a las Calles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4d7R9rBH0YI
Somos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y73papVElSQ
One of the newest exponents in Peruvian rap is Terco92. He gained recognition when he won RedBull's Batalla de los Gallos. He speaks about the struggles that low income families encounter and his perspective of life. He's been in the scene for a bit more than 7 years and he keeps gaining following especially with the underground rap.
Good songs to listen from Terco92:
Escucha y Soporta (Seriedad): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuNmEQfLcUs

The next group is probably Peru's most known exponent in the genre. They are widely known in LatinAmerica, and they are considered also one of the big exponents of rap in Spanish. Personally, they are one of my favorite groups because they were one of the groups that I listen to when I started listening to rap. Their lyrics cover so many different topics, such as their hard work, life "in the hood", the hardships Latin-Americans go through, they rap about love, about family about things that most of us can relate to. Their amazing instrumentals have rock, classical music, jazz and Latin-American folk music influences. They consist of Warrior, Norick, Street and Dj Deportado, the group was founded in 1999 but it was consolidated in 2001 and they keep making music with the highest quality until this day.
Songs I will recommend are some of my favorites:

As I did with Colombia, I know I left out different rappers that are amazingly talented from Peru but these are the ones I know. If you're interested in more artists from Peru, the next is a link from RedBull where they give a brief review of rap history and they mention more artists.
